The History of Medtec

1974 Medtec Ambulance is Founded
         
1988-89 Medtec starts fabricating its own bodies.  They were all previously contracted.

1989 Medtec begins building its own circuit boards in house.

1991 AFR was founded. AFR was a division of Medtec that built rescue trucks.

1990 Medtec was first in the industry to install an Aero cab. The cab helped shift weight to the rear axle 
         and was the first extended and raised roof cab offered in the ambulance industry.

2000 Medtec begins using radius corner cabinets.

2000 The Saturn LX was the first multiplex truck in the Medtec line.

2000 Oshkosh Corporation purchases Medtec Ambulance.

2002 Medtec becomes the official ambulance of Daytona International Speedway.

2003 Medtec introduces the Field Duty Type II.  This truck has all fiberglass cabinets.

2004 Medtec begins building trucks with the Command Zone.

2004 Introduction of the G2 door design offering a one-piece, form-rolled, compartment and entry door.

2004 Medtec is certified as a GSA contractor.

2011 Medtec consolidates manufacturing operations to Pierce's Bradenton, Florida facility.
